This year our Club plans to improve our services to our members and our community by focusing on management, communications and program quality.To achieve this we have restructured our Executive Committee so that our Vice Presidents and Directors have specific “program responsibilities”. Each will be setting program “goals and objectives” in consultation with key individuals and stakeholders. Each will report on “performance to plan” to both the Executive Committee and to Members. As President my role is to represent the Club’s interests to internal and external stakeholders and to further the Objects of the Club as stated in the Constitution.These Objects are:·To manage, promote, encourage and develop the sport of Water Polo throughout our community·To facilitate health, wellbeing and experiential learning opportunities through the sport of Water Polo·To affiliate with Australian Water Polo Incorporated (AWPI) through NSW Water Polo Incorporated (NSWWPI) and with other institutions, organizations and bodies as deemed appropriate from time to time· To be our community’s window to the world of Water Polo.

In order to achieve this, the President will preside at General Meetings of the Club, Chair the Executive Committee and where necessary and or desired Chair any Subcommittee of the Club. Key Responsibilities include:·Representing the Club in executive level negotiations with key internal and external stakeholders and or affiliated organizations·Ensuring that the Executive Committee implements a suitable Strategic and Operational Planning, Reporting & Review Process·         Encouraging participation, teamwork and commitment from members and in particular, the Executive Committee·Regularly communicating to Members key issues and performance outcomes.

My goal for 2008 – 2009 is to secure an agreement that will enable the Cronulla Sutherland Water Polo Club to lease land at Cronulla High School for the establishment and management of a Centre of Excellence for Water Polo of International Standard. Here’s to a tremendously successful year!
